Youth Video Project 2009 – Coalescing

A group of young carers worked with ArtsAbilityACT and the National Gallery of Australia to make video responses to works of art. The aim was to develop visual and digital literacy while providing the opportunity for the participants to experience the NGA and its collection. The group engaged in a fun arts based project that allowed them to explore multi media as an artistic medium. Each group also developed their own sound track. Participants chose the following works of art to respond to: Claude Monet ‘Nymphéas [Waterlilies]‘ c.1914-17; Elllsworth Kelly ‘Orange curve’ 1964-65; Jean Tinguely ‘Méta-mécanique (Méta-Herbin)’ 1954; and John Olsen ‘Sydney sun (King sun)’ 1965.
